Great list Chris, and nice job with CIO Dashboard. I think this would be even more valuable if you showed the bio instead of, or in addition to, the latest tweet.
Thanks Greg. I have looked for some widgets that include the bio, but haven’t found any. I added the basic name, title and company in the mouseover text as a temporary solution. Also, if you click on the graphic, it will take you to the person’s Twitter page and you can read the bio there. I’m always open to suggestions if you find something you like elsewhere, just post a link here. -cc
Not sure which industry niche I would fit in … I am the Technology Officer for HNTB Infrastructure. We provide AEP services to government sector clients (DOTs, Turnpikes, Airports, Transit Authorities, Cities, etc.)
This is a great site. You have made it so easy to find peers who have an interest in Web 2.0 and social media.
I have already had an opportunity to start 3 new relationships with CIOs in multiple verticals as a direct result of your efforts.
Thank you very much.
Thanks for the comment and the tweets. For now, the dashboard has only CIOs currently in organizations versus those in between or consultants like me and those on your list (if I have that wrong, just send me an email). That said, I’m thinking about ways to showcase the rest of us too. Hopefully more on that later.
Great list. I’ve used it to add several folks already. Have you considered a Service Provider or Telecommunications industry? May fit under High Tech just as well.
I am the CIO for a mental health center in southern Indiana. 300 FTE’s, 16 sites, 7200 active clients, 8.5 staff in IT department, including full time trainer. Would like to connect with other CIO’s in Louisville, KY area. Teri Baskett
Chris, as a wholesale distribution CIO, I’d be happy to help other CIOs where I can. Eby-Brown is currently in the midst of an SAP implementation, so we at leat have that in common with many other CIOs. There are also a number of CIO networking groups that might be useful/helpful to all CIOs – and I bet everyother CIO in your list has similar suggestions.
So, how can I help everyone?

We already have a growing community of Information Practitioners on the First Link IS website, Chris. Email me and maybe we can chat about linking up? We could direct the CIO’s your way then if you shout us to the independents!
May I ask what is the purpose of keeping tab of only CIO’s in office (vs. those in between)? As a professional group, we all face the same challenges and I would think a more inclusive list would give us a larger peer group for sharing and support.
Full disclosure: I am now a professional consultant/advisor like you, so I don’t need to be on this list.
I’d like to add you to the CIO list but I can’t do it for protected profiles.
Long,
Focusing on current CIOs is primarily a scope management choice since I also have a day-job! I’d like to add others (consultants, CTOs, etc), but chose to focus on CIOs first.
Thanks to you both for your thoughts and comments,
You don’t have a LifeSciences category (as differentiated from Healtcare), so not sure where you’d place me, but I am SVP, IT for Medicis (Pharma). twitter.com/RalphLoura
Metrix Matrix belongs in a Business Services or Market Research category, which so far you don’t have. I’m the CIO/CTO there. I also recommend Nambu on OSX as a twitter client, because I love having a separate group just for CIOs.
What a smart idea, pulling together the CIO dashboard, although I’d guess that might be why I am getting an influx of new spam followers (despite not being a big twitter user). No problem all looks good on the follower stats!
I’m developing a peer-network of Agile CIOs (business agility not just technical agility) London UK based initially. Very face-to-face rather than twitter but if you have any ideas on how we might collaborate – drop me a note.
Great work Chris and good to see so many CIO’s putting their heads above the public parapet. For those that wish to create a list then you can use Seesmic Desktop to create a search term that ‘lives’ as a separate column. I’ve already done that for #ciodashboard and can use that to add people who are part of this ‘group.’
Also – for anyone interested, I have established a Ning group: Innovation and Disruption for All Enterprises (IDEA) as a closed group for CXO’s interested in discussing tech issues as both threats and opportunities in a safe environment that is vendor neutral. Examples might be cloud computing, maintenance costs, sensor technology and so on. If anyone here would like to join then click this link: http://ideating.ning.com/?xgi=bZZBsbo and I can then ‘approve.’ To kickstart, I’ve added 6 videos I’ve recently filmed that hopefully give a flavor of innovation.
Apologies for the blatant self promotion but there is a longer term purpose which is hopefully to build a self sustaining community where it is safe to say: “I have a problem” and where it is equally safe to say: “I have a solution” and then see where that leads.
Great list! Thanks for creating the CIO Dashboard for us to network with.
I am the CIO for JobAngels, a nationwide nonprofit organization working to match up our over 15,000 volunteer mentors in job search skills with job seekers – “helping one job seeker at a time”. I hope you will consider adding me to your list, as well.

Hey Chris – great list. I’m the CIO of a HR Services company, new to twitter but would love to be on your dashboard. chris_loope
Chris,
I’d like to suggest that you add Edward Marx, CIO at Texas Health Resources, to your list of health care CIOs.
Ed is active on Twitter (user name “marxists”) and publishes a twice monthly blog titled “CIO Unplugged.”
You can read his blog at http://community.advanceweb.com/blogs/hx_3/default.aspx.

Also, would it be possible to list these items as text rather than images? It makes it hard to search the list…
Thanks Chuck. Actually you were one of the first CIOs I found but user error kept you off. Sorry!
Yes, I will look into the search options.
